The Voices Initiative uses traditional public speaking and debate events as a framework to teach essential skills like confidence, critical thinking, and global awareness. While focusing on these events, the program emphasizes fostering diverse conversations and encouraging students to engage with complex issues, exploring not only the facts but also their broader impacts and implications.

Being part of The Voices Initiative has helped me become a better and more confident speaker. Before, I didn’t really like talking in front of people because I was afraid I’d mess up or forget what to say. However, during the program, I learned how to speak clearly, organize my thoughts, and stay calm when talking to a group. We practiced a lot and got helpful tips from teachers. Now, I feel more ready to share my ideas in class or during presentations. I still get a little nervous sometimes, but I know I can handle it better.
